  • Not much on the nose, mid-palate of chocolate, a little hot, but overall a reasonably balanced wine, but not overly complex. Medium finish.

  • A very good showing! The oak is well integrated with ripe ruit. A dark color, and a wonderful "cabernetesque" nose featuring red fruits, currants, vanilla, menthol and spice. After time resting in the glass brown sugar and tobacco do emerge. The palate is somewhat dissappointing relative to this wines aromatic expression. Medium bodied, delineated, and not nearly as concentrated as the '01. Fruit flavors of dark cherries, rasberry and strawberry are present. The finish is decent with a lingering element of tobacco and brown sugar. Overall a well-done job with an underrated grape!
