This year continues to have some improvement. It is luscious. Nose of tar and pine. Palate is getting darker than previous years -- more mushroomy, forest floor, with dark fruit rather than bright fruit. Modest tannins.
Significant difference upward on this bottle. Tar and pine on the nose -- even in first 15 min. Fairly classic dark nose that is redolent of good nebbiolo fruit. Palate is bright, juicy, tart, with a background of forest floor. Moderate tannins kick in and round out the satisfying quality.
Young, not showing, closed. Perhaps needs another couple of years. Strawberries and pine on the nose, not the usual nebbiolo. Palate is biting with bright fruit and significant acid and modest tannins.
Still quite young. This could very well have a value around 95, but for now it is still youngish and gawky. Nose is redolent of strawberries and cinnamon and pine (not my usual sense of this carema!) Palate is brisk, biting with significant acid playing against the very bright fruit, though some dark cherry notes occur. And there is a background of light tannins coming out at the end. Seems like it might be a less deep year for this nebbiolo, but can't tell until more time passes.
