  • some dark berries and forest on nose. Some of the fruit lost, and a suttle acidity. Ok wine, but would have been at it's peak 3 to 5 years ago.

  • A second great showing. My note from a year ago holds. This is a superb village wine! Great choice for Christmas Eve

  • About as satisfying as a village wine gets. I opened it a few hours ahead and left in bottle. Nose is a touch muted with mostly forest floor notes. Medium bodied with a robust dark crimson color. Ripe and very juicy palate with dark cherries, blackberries and beef jerky notes. Ripe, yet elegant and in perfect balance. long with fine tannins on the finish. Super villages! 92+

  • Friday Afternoon at Domaine (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL): This had been slow oxidized for about 5 hours. Nose was elegant and rich with good red fruit - mostly cherries and cranberries. The palate was in a great place. Tones were elegant, and it had a beautiful weightlessness to it that I always look for with Burgundies. Definitely got some Gevrey hung game and dark spices on the palate which were a nice treat, too.

  • Dark but transparent cherry-red colour. Slightly perfumed nose of sandalwood-ish bath salts, sour red cherries and some earth. Palate is slightly sour red and black cherries with some cola, then into an acidic mid paale then giving into sweeter red cherry, mushrooms and some white chocolate on the back end with hints of sous bois. On the second day a nice milky coffee element emerged. Not much length. has a nice vibrancy and freshness about it with a finish that shows some maturity and hints at a few more years of further potential. A light, enjoyable and well-made Villages which I'm pleased that I kept to this age but in the turmoil of a house move I had forgotten my note to self of April 2011 to keep this last bottle a couple of more years.
