Almost Sauternes like in color and somewhat so on the nose. Nose of honey, candied orange, honeysuckle blossom, straw and some minerality. Palate is very similar to the nose but on the dry side opposed to sweet with a long caramel/nutty finish. Lovely wine.

It is a few years since I last had this. The oak is now integrated. Big bold fruit wine and one can tell it saw a lot of new oak to get it to this stage. Simple, ripe yellow fruits and it will last for many more years. It is a decent wine but I don’t love it.

Did some cellar reorganization this morning, and came across a bottle I thought was long gone. Popped it in the fridge for a pre-dinner wine. Never my favorite type of wine, but this showed well, with yellow fruit, hay, waxy elements, and a spicy (wood?) note on the finish. My wife had a sip, and pronounced it “not bad”, which is a high compliment from her for a non-Riesling still white.
