  • Light to medium garnet. Sappy, crushed red cherry on the nose, hint of smoke, some nice minerality / iron. Nose gets very expressive into the 2-3 hour mark. Palate is light to medium in body and very juicy. A lot of red and black fruit intermixed here with cherry standing out. More traces of sweet smoke on the palate. Smoked meat character to it too. Tannins quite soft. This is drinking nicely now, but as more time ahead of it for sure.

  • Some sweetness in the nose of this wine, nice red fruit though, but with a candied edge. The palate has a good attack of red fruit, some candy-ness, with nice feel. The structure here isn't as integrated as I would hope for, but overall the wine is nice. The flavor intensity is pretty low and the late-hitting structure comes in and closes up the finish on this. Maybe needs more time in bottle. The Canary Hill and Carter are drinking better now.
