A very interesting bottle of wine, although clearly just a baby. This has a very vivid and wild nose of meat and red fruit. Given the intensity of the nose, the palate comes across a little thin, almost delicate, and the finish is only medium. There is certainly enough here to justify following, however.
Popped and drank over 3 hours. Very classic Rocks Syrah, but lacking a little complexity and depth and maybe a bit tart and grapefruit on the finish? Finish wasn't ideal. First from this vineyard, and might stick to their core older bottlings for a wine to let this one gain some complexity over vintages.
Notes from day 2. Dark purple color. Nose of funky tar, seared meats, olive, red raspberry. Palate of tart red raspberry, cranberry, tar, roasted meat, olive. The finish is above average in length, good acidity. Overall the wine was solid. 50+5+12+16+7 4

(Reynvaan Family Vineyards Foothills Reserve Estate Syrah Walla Walla Valley) Intensely aromatic with heaping amounts of black pepper, underbrush, peat, savory notes, and plum. The palate is elegant in style with soft, fresh savory flavors.
