Portuguese reds with AuZone (AuZone, Stockholm): Medium red, paler edge. Noticeably developed nose with barnyard aromas, leather, ripe berries, stony and slatey notes, some notes oxidation and dill. Has a nose like a classical Rioja, but of a somewhat rough character. Palate with red tart berries, some spice, medium(-) tannins. 86 p? This wine gave me a feeling of a “sneaky cork taint” (a mild cork defect hovering at the detection limit), but it can possibly be the style that include notes that I perceive as “unclean”. Our host claimed that this wine had shown a consistent style over a number of bottles, though. Difficult to tell if the "old-fashioned" impression is due to winemaking or aging.

Blackcurrant, cherry, some meat on the nose. The palate shows bright and lively vanilla and cherry notes, with toasty, neat oak. Impressive, structured and paired nicely with lamb. Tasted with a slight cold, not rated, but I'm sure at least very good.

A kinda closed nose with hints of black berries, black fruit and some red berries. The taste had alot of black fruit and berries and some red berries and a very lively, wonderful acid that made the wine great!!

What a wonderful discovery. Tons of leather and red fruits on the nose with a medium to full body that is all about some dark and brighter red fruits including slightly tart raspberry. The finish is a little tight so I think this needs a couple more years to round out. Tons of fruit and interesting nuances and a great QPR.

Just about the same notes as the last bottles but this one a candied fruit feeling to it that wasn't that good.
