Much as my original Christies note. Good condition but threw considerable sediment - see photo! The elegance of this port comes from its (relatively) dry finish. Has held up well over three days in sealed decanter. Would go well with cheese and some richer meat dishes as a change.
Fonseca Bicentenary Dinner at Christies London hosted by Adrian Bridge. Limited note taking. The star of the show. The only wine that visibly showed its age with clear rim and red slightly brickish core colour. While showing the spiced dense desert fruit character associated with Fonseca's stable, this also had an ethereal elegance that presumably comes with age - rich and racy at the same time. À point with perhaps another 5 years ahead of it at this level - so impressed that I bought a case in the following day's sale!
