  • Needs an hour plus of air in a decanter. High quality big wine. Are with buddies and steak - perfect combo.

  • black cherries, blueberries, vanilla, cassis, chocolate, mocha, baking spice, cedar and sweet tobacco.

big wine, typical buccella style. great vintage. this is more of those hedonistic, semi extracted--style wines and full throttle that remain the same no matter what vintage. There's a time and place for these wines in my opinion. I don't pour them in blinds or what not, mostly just enjoy these wines by itself over a good meal.

  • This right here is an epiphany wine if you have not had one of those before. I've had this particular vintage last year and was blown away and nothing has changed. The wine pours a very dark hue - almost black. The nose is huge - lots of really dark fruits on the nose, blueberries, chassis, baked blueberry pie - and from what I can remember last time, a lot more tertiary notes starting to come through. The palate is HUGE (in a Donald Trump voice)!! This is very concentrated, rich, velvety, with gobs of delicious fruit on the palate. Very complex and elegant on the palate, totally not restrained. I told everyone else at my table that it felt like this wine was screaming at me that is how loud it is. Paired this with a medium rare filet mignon and it was perfect. The finish is long, the tannins are still quite present - but really starting to integrate now. This is in a fantastic spot right now and can easily age for another 10 years.

Hands down one the best wines I've ever had.

  • I know its only March, but this just won wine of the year for me! Brought this bottle to a local steakhouse in NYC, popped the cork and immediately was greeted by such an elegant nose of crème de cassis, dark berries, licorice, and a hint of eucalyptus. On the palate this just shines, incredibly concentrated - but not extracted or macerated. You just can taste the tiny cabernet berries that made this beautiful wine. Such a long finish and very complex. Has depth and many layers.

This is a 9 year old wine as of today, but it feels so young, still has strong tannins, but they are very nicely integrated, not overpowering, just right. Good acidity from the cabernet. Drank this wine over 2 hours, and it just kept getting better. After being open for ~1 hour, it started to show some notes of polished leather and forest floor, but was still very vibrant and youthful on the palate.

This wine can easily age another 20 years. Such a massive wine that is totally underappreciated. Let it be said here - new California CULT status cabernet!! Looking forward to seeing how my other bottles will do.

    Wow! Cheers!

  • Pure, thick, focused Napa fruit that fills the palate and lingers on the finish. Delicious cult Cab from a great year.
