  • Two hour decant, the nose has tobacco and dark fruit with a palate that starts out slightly muted and a little tart but really blossoms with a little more time in the glass so give this plenty of air in the decanter. This opens up even more when paired with food, a certain level of sweetness comes out that is very enjoyable. A medium mouthfeel with a longer finish makes this a very good bottle.

  • This is way sweeter than I am used to in a Cabernet, but it is finely tuned to carry it well. Beautiful spicy nose of raspberries, blackcurrants and cedar. The palate carries sweet raspberries, plums and blackcurrant, chocolate, vanilla, cinamon, cloves and nutmeg. The fruit is intense, but the balance is good. It has a bright acid profile and its fine tannins paint the mouth, driving a long and juicy finish. Not everyone’s style, but a real crowd pleaser that goes very well with roast meats, particularly fatty lamb. A wine for Winter.

  • Big wine with dark fruits and a distinct tobacco ash aromatic component. Very lush, elegant, and balanced. A beautiful wine. Give it an hour to open up to its potential.

  • This is a big wine. Dry, rich, cherry skins, blackberry jams, and tobacco at this point, with a fantastic, long finish. It definitely mellowed after a while -- let it breathe a bit before diving in. Great with rich bold food, but I'm also enjoying a glass after dinner on the patio with a smidge of dark chocolate. This wine will cellar well, but who wants to wait? Yum, thanks RyanS!

  • Dark ruby color. Nose: bottled black cherry, blueberry, blackberry, and dried redcurrant with accents of tobacco, cedar, dates, roses/violets, baking spices, dark chocolate, vanilla, and licorice root. Medium/full body on the palate: bottled black cherry, blueberry, black raspberry, and dried redcurrant framed by tobacco, baking spices, licorice root, dark chocolate, vanilla, black tea, and crushed rock. Medium+ acidity. Moderate tannins. Lingering black cherry skin, tobacco, baking spices, and crushed rock on the long finish. Supremely elegant dinner wine. Bordeaux-esque in a very good way. Pair with roast duck, grilled pork chops, mushroom-sauced filet mignon, or roast pork tenderloin. Drink over the next 4-6 years.
