  • The dissapointment of the year. The wine has a bit of every standard elements but all seems to have their own mind. After 1 hour of breathing the aroma is rich with blackberries. The taste though, is pretty one dimension, and virtually no finish. Body is medium.

  • {screwcap, 14.5%} Perhaps more blackberries than currants; there's a thickish sort of jammy fruit to the palate here, only sort-of dusty tannins (as befits on on-premise special wine), and not much acid. But it's flavourful enough, medium-bodied, dry, more-or-less, and with a short-medium length finish. Solid crowd-pleaser, even if it veers more towards modern new-world red than any particular expression of cabernet sauvignon (never mind Coonawarra in particular). Perfectly drinkable now. Not for keeping, though.
