  Softly leathery berry nose, with blackcurrant and cherry palate. Some tannic skin notes, but well-balanced against fruit. Compote and leather finish.

  No formal notes - Very nice, big but restrained, good balance of fruit, acidity and a tiny lick of tannin on the finish. Would buy again.

  Very pleased to be trying this again after three years. Clear deep ruby with just a hint of garnet on the rim. The nose is medium (+) in intensity, with blackberry, red currant, leather, black pepper, dark chocolate and pungent Asian herbs and spices. The nose is lightly oaked and developing. The palate is dry, but with good foundation of fruit. The acidity is medium to medium (+), as are the tannins and the alcohol (14.5% on the label, but 13.5% on the winemaker's notes). The mouthfeel is smooth and rich yet lively. The body is medium (+) as is the flavor intensity and the length of the finish. The flavor profile is consistent with the nose. This is a very well-balanced, almost elegant wine which keeps you coming back for more. It has changed very little in three years, just a little more open, softer and smoother. At this rate, it could definitely go a couple more years - and is a really great value.
