  • PnP. Not sure if my tastes are changing or if bottle is changing, but perhaps a bit too much oak. Too heavy a hand. Loring typically goes right up to line of ripeness. This may have started to cross it

  • The wine is a deep ruby color to maroon color. The very open and inviting nose has cassis, cedar, dried herbs, tobacco, dark bittersweet chocolate, and minerals. This has medium to full body, moderate to solid tannins, and good acidity. On the palate cassis and cedar dominate the front end with dried herbs and cherry coming through later. The finish has nice length with sweet fruit and spicy oak carrying the load. This could use a bit more complexity and it may come out with some time in the cellar. That said, it is still a delicious bottle of wine.

  • Drank with Brian in Meadville. Big nose of dark berries and baking sides. The palate is big, ark and loring like. Usually one of my favorites of the lineup and no exception this year.

  • Well...This wine is a true Loring. You could smell the fruit in the glass even while holding it at my waist. Full throttle fruit, generous oak... H-E-D-O-N-I-S-T-I-C extraordinarily tasty for sipping. Slightly sweet long finish. Not sure that it would go with food though. If you like the Loring Pinot's then you will like this a lot...others that like a more restrained old world style of wine, may want to stand clear. Fortunately, I do so love that style. This is a must buy for me each year

  • More varietal character than the Mourvedre. Still quite sweet in its fruit profile, but has some backbone. There's an herbal touch on the finish that is nice.
