  Yum. Decanted and drank over a few hours. Ruby red. This was open for business just after the decant. Beautiful nose of violets, herbs and bacon fat; pretty much textbook Syrah. A little bit of garlic/burnt rubber to begin, but that disappears. On the palate, very nice density, great mouth-watering acidity, saline minerality and wonderful mouthfeel with a bit of tartness and very soft tannin on the finish. This is drinking just spectacularly now, almost like a good St. Joseph (it doesn't have that iron-like, almost bloody core that some St. Joseph have).

  This is just a wonderful syrah, much more interesting and evolved than the previous time we opened this, which was about six months ago. On Day 1, after about an hour open, there was a fair amount of meat and some crushed dark fruits. Nice tannic intensity with a pretty long finish. On Day 2, this was more fruit forward, but herbs on the nose and a nice mouthfeel.

  Very nice cool climate syrah. We opened this up and drank it over about 4 hours and it evolved very nicely. Nice nose of tobacco and dark fruit to begin with a nice peppery finish. Full bodied and reddish-purple in color, there was a very nice acidity and elegant tannic structure. By the end we were getting some more meaty flavors from the wine. This still seems quite young, but it is drinking very well right now.

  The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are fast. It smells like black pepper. It tastes like leathery strawberry. The wine finishes short and needs some room to open. Overall straightforward.
