Tasted at the winery and brought a bottle home. Popped it open after trying a couple of wines that were really off, so in comparison this one tasted very good! Not a lot of complexity but a nice well-balanced wine with plenty of flavor. Jammy and fruit-forward with a hint of pepper, easy to drink. This would go well with pizza or BBQ. After purchasing from the winery I noticed that it is available at most grocery stores, and cheaper. Nice to know I won't have to go back to Sonoma to get more.

Decanted and poured with dinner. It was big and jammy with lots of fruit. Drank the rest the next night and it had settled down a lot and more tannins were present. I liked it both ways.

Nose: very fruity: cherry, dried figs, dried dates, plum jam. Some sweet hay and smokiness too. Appealing profile but a little tight. Taste: dry, medium bodied. Again very fruity, with a silky texture and some dark earthy undertones of dried basil. Blackberry, black cherry and raspberry jam. as well as definite "twizzler" or cough syrup fake cherry. Some burnt coffee tannins add an off-putting harshness to the finish, however. Simplistic but not offensive.

A straightforward California Zinfandel. High jam and alcohol. On the thin side.

Some pretty negative TNs on this one; for me better than the Temptation. Brambly fruit.
