A great wine that can be a bit deceiving when first popped due to the funk on the nose. I could get beyond the funk but my wife could not. One should know that it does go away. After opened for a few hours most of the funk had dissipated, and on day two you could no longer detect it at all; at which point my wife really enjoyed it. A light to medium body that shines with bright red fruit flavors and acidity that will cut through most dishes. I really enjoy this style of wine, and it almost reminds me of a true Burgundian-like wine with a little more earth.

cloudy, very low depth of color, ruby rim showing low extraction. aromatically lots of orange peel, cherry, earthy smells... no new oak. on the palate high acidity, moderate midpalate depth, lots and lots of gritty tannins, low to moderate alcohol. well balanced wine with good length, great intensity, good complexity. wine has ok finesse, a very firm texture, good expression of place. a well made, natural wine that is quite distinctive and pretty. drink with food now or give it 2-4 for hard elements in wine to integrate.
