  • Interesting cherry, spice, acetone note, some wood, medium finish, flattish mouthfeel. Past its prime but still holding up. Drink up though…

  • Bright mahogany color.

Quite an exotic nose of sandalwood, rose, vanilla and some koka nut.

Quite full and rich on the palate. Sweet red and black cherry fruit. Full and round with a touch of herbaceousness on the finish. At out perhaps slightly past peak, but drinking well.

  • Drank over 2 nights. Not a very expressive nose, but some cherry and spice. On the palate, there is some cherry and dark fruit. On the mid-palate, some spice, earth, and oak. Not a lot of tannins, a round mouthfeel, and a nice finish. Lacks the more pronounced spice/minerality/earthiness of some more recent Vista Verdes I have had - not sure if this is reflection of the age of the wine or the vintage. Still solid, but not the best/most complex Vista Verde at this point.

  • Day 1: Nose mostly of strawberry, with subtle cherry, cola, and baking spices. Initial flavors of dried fruit, resembling Craisins, which would dissipate and reappear randomly. Other fruit flavors (i.e., red berries and cherry) were rather muddled and confused, not well-integrated. Acidity was medium-high, EtOH low, and tannins weak.

Day 2: Dried fruit character was mostly gone, replaced by brighter red berry flavors along with some hard candy and birch beer hints. Acidity diminished, and some earth/mushroom emerged slightly. Overall a better quaff after a day of rest in the fridge. About an espresso-spoonful of sediment came out in the last pour.

  • Good mixed wild red berry; good albeit slightly rustic acidity; medium finish
