Amazingly good and in a great spot !! Consumed with friends alongside other great Rhone varietals. Perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle. Dark burgundy color with no evidence of oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of blackberry, cherry, and Garrique. Flavors of rhubarb, black cherry, and rose hips with a hint of licorice with a long finish. A very balanced flavorful Rhone blend of 53% Grenache, 37% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah from the estate in Dry Creek Valley. This is an age worthy wine with more years of life left, fortunately I still have three bottles of this vintage in my cellar. Great fruit and a great winemaking effort.

Really nice blend with a lot of earth on the nose and a long smooth palate. This was given to us by a friend but I certainly would buy it now as well. Definitely in the window.

Balanced acidity and fruit. Rhone style from California - wonderful. Hints of eucalyptus and smoke. Plums and dark berries. Aging potential remains and a hallmark of this high class winemaker. Mick Unti does it again.

THE RED WHALE Sonoma Tasting (The Red Whale): This had a cherry chapstick, strawberry and cinnamon nose that indicated grenache immediately. The palate is fairly straightforward, light on its feet and with delicate tannins. Quite nice, but a bit pricey at $23.
