  • Delicious, "modified" New World style Cabernet Sauvignon, meaning with lots of extraction and residual sweetness, but with a very good level of acid and structure, a medium+ level of oak, and a nice, smooth balance. The wine lacks aromatic and flavor complexity, but is otherwise satisfying and delicious. It shows very little age, so while I'm not sure how it will develop, it surly has many years ahead of it.

  • This is huge! It put my mind to 2008 offerings from Pepper Bridge and Va Piano. Most big Walla Walla reds are more acidic than tannic; this wine features an ample jolt of fine-grained tannin and excellent acid beginning at the mid palate that continues through an agreeable, if somewhat hot finish. The wine is not yet resolved and probably needs three or more years to show what it will be. Between the tannin, acid, and heat there is a balance issue. The wine could evolve beautifully and score 92-93 points. It could remain highly acidic and the tannic structure could fade, or it could reach a peak and unwind quickly. I suspect the tannic structure will help this evolve nicely, thus the score, but it is always difficult to tell with wines sourced from Walla Walla and made in this style.

  • Just okay. A bit hot on the nose at the open (it's 14.8%) but it calmed down a bit after 30-40 minutes open. Nothing crazy on the mouth, maybe some dark berries, but coffee on the nose and I really like it. WAY short finish. Great color.
