dsamuel nailed the tasting notes on this, I totally agree. Two and half years later, the secondary notes are pretty strong but lots of fruit left. Decanted and enjoyed over 4 hours with brie and later a chanterelle pot roast.

The celler's scent, as I opened the bottle was the first good sign. The deep burgundy color in the glass was the next, and the exquisite combination of just about every note one would want in a well-made Pinot was the proof. We've become too familiar with mediocre in Pinot. This is the example of what a Pinot should be. Perfect right now, should hang on for another year or so, but don't sleep on this vintage.

Blind tasting. This was a little murky and rustic with earthy elements dominating.

Popped & poured: a mistake. Decanted, thrice. Another hour and it was good. I think there's plenty of time left if you are holding it.

Bright, clear and mainly red pinot fruit with some sous bois notes. Light footed for a Pommard with a fine balance. Well made and in a good place now.
