Popped and poured. Vibrant red fruit aroma with a bit of bramble. Fresh, bold flavors of blackberry, leathery mid palate, with the finish adding vanilla and dry leaves.
Powerful but balanced, firm backbone, complex, great staying power. Good old fashioned red blooded zinfandel. Outstanding.

Really really good. Medium garnet with minor bricking. Ripe black cherry and earth. This doesn’t taste like a 14 year old wine. In a perfect spot right now. Medium acidity and really well integrated tannins. Delicious.

Pop and pour. From Grassl 1855. Transparent medium garnet with bricking at the rim. Nose of dust and spices. Palate has some tart cherry, spices/pepper and earth. Medium body with plenty of acid, some tannin presence. Finishes with dusty/earthy notes, faint fruit notes and lingering spice. A nicely balanced mature wine. No sign of decline over several hours.

Dirt, blood, and the faintest hint of cherries. I'm having these wines for the first time, and I'm really enjoying them. Well constructed, at 14 years old this balanced wine has obviously evolved but has no hint of decay. I'm looking forward to tasting more of their wines.
