Brought to a restaurant, shared with spouse, PnP. More red fruits of cranberry, cherry, little bit of pine needle, baking spices and orange peel all rolled together without be heavy or extracted. Definitely Cali fruit on the profile but no sense of cola or overbearingness.
Opened for an hour or so before tasting. Medium dark red. Complex nose of darker fruits and a floral/spicy quality as well. Lovely full taste and body with good richness but perhaps a bit lacking on the finish. This is quite intriguing as the dark fruits and flavors are quite distinct from the blood orange/red fruited wines one often get from this area. Vineyard management, clones, vinification or vintage? Very good.
