Burgundy "Masterclass" - Day 1 (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia): [From Coravin] There are well-defined and complex aromas of bottle-age (tobacco), oak (charred wood, roasted coffee beans), and a stem/whole-bunch character (dried leaves, subtle ash). Swirling reveals additional notes of black fruit (black cherry, black plum). The wine appears fully developed.
The palate is dry with medium(-) acidity, medium alcohol, medium(-) tannins, and medium body. The flavours have a medium(+) level intensity and show additional notes not found on the nose: bottle age (mushroom), floral characters (rose), and red fruit (raspberry). The finish has a medium(+) length. Very enjoyable.

Well, this turned a corner. Dense with leather, black hued fruit, sweet spice, a little toasted cedar, tinned pea (?) & menthol on the nose. Juicy, fleshy, textured, dark hued fruit, polished. Impressive for bourgogne, for this vintage and based on my previous experience. good.

Composite cork . Light-medium body. Animalistic earthy nose. Medium fruit, medium- acidity/tannins. Well balanced. Finish that persists a while but without any complexity. Despite its low appellation still drinking well 6 years into maturity.

Coravin fun - Burgundy practice #1 (Kennards, Waterloo): from Coravin. Muted red currant, it of funkiness and herbal elements...the stalkiness I've seen previously seems to be integrating at last. A little tart and red currant on the palate...It's fairly simply but pleasant enough.

Coravin fun - Burgundys to drink in 2016 (My place, parramatta, sydney): From Coravin. Red currant, strawberries & slight cherry, smoky ash. Fresh, juicy slightly unripe strawberry underpinned by smoky notes. Quite pleasant.
