Truely surprised! I (cheaply) bought this about 15 years ago together with a few other bottles. They probably weren't correctly stored as most were flawed. Left this one in my wine fridge since and forgot about it until I rearranged to make some space. So I thought I give it a try. Level still at base of neck, bit of mould on top of cork but it came out in one piece. Colour surprisingly opaque, pale ruby with some brownish hints. Initially very subdued nose but surprised by a little sweetness and fruit on the nose. Initially very short (only 5-10 sec) but not unpleasant. After 30 minutes this lengthened and the wine is actually very enjoyable. Delicate red fruit (raspberry), surprising sweetness and juiciness on the palate, although some drying tannins can be noticed at the end. Clearly developed beyond primary stage but no dominant charcoal, tobacco, forest floor or leather/barn, maybe some mushrooms. And now at 45+ sec. Probably not an exceptional wine but I didn't anticipate this after 35 years, otherwise I would have served this at a dinner with friends.

Peter's BDay (Bistro Na Pasadena): Cork soaked about 7/8 of the way up. A little bit dusty on the nose, but loads of smoke/charcoal, a hint of dried raspberry, entirely tertiary. Good acidity, tannin completely attenuated. A completely mature Bdx from a vintage I really enjoy.
