  • Lemon-Gold colour of modest depth and watery at the rim

On the nose, lemon to the fore, with a light robe of restrained oak around it, alongside oatmeal.

On the palate there's some butter and just a hint of phenolic bitterness, and the finish has good length complexity.

Very enjoyable - rather predictably so for their wines, as it's perhaps only the entry level negocient wine 'Marie Antoinette' that ever underwhelmed us.

  • Rather youthful lemon-straw colour
The nose had a surprisingly smoky/creosote and nettle & citrus nose. The former smoky/creosote did recede a little with air, but remained there an hour after opening.

The palate more typical of the Ch Fuisse wines we've had before, but with a slightly creamier texture, decent complexity with nettle, lemon and butter to the fore, with really great length.

Based on this bottle, I'm tempted to leave the remaining 2 bottles for another 3-5 years, though this bottle gives the impression it could feasibly improve beyond that timescale.

  • Stone fruit with some richness from the oak create a wonderful expression of the region. Good depth and complexity. I don't think this wine will get any better.

  • Stone fruit and minerality dance with a touch of brioche and notes of smoke. This has a great level of intellect and excitement! There is still a lot of life left in this Southern France beauty.
