I’m a big fan of Chablis, but this one was rather unbalanced. We enjoyed it, as it had nice aromas and a decent flavor profile, but the acid was nearly overwhelming. It was also missing that crisp, flinty flavor that we like so much about Chablis. If I had tasted it blind I would I would have guessed California. This was a Chardonnay that truly needed to be paired with food. I gave it an average rating anyway as it was still a decent wine, but just not what I expected when I opened the bottle.
Very light yellow with a slight green hue. Fairly tight nose with a little lemon and seashore. Medium+ body and acid, medium finish, and flavors of citrus, pineapple, pear, and apple, along with mineral riding out the finish. Worked well with sushi, but agree that this screams for raw oysters and raw bar.
