  • Siste flasken. Drikker fortsatt veldig fint. Snev av petroleum. Karamell. Søtlig og myk i smaken. Egner seg nok best til dessert.

  • Light golden, clear.
I got alot of butter like aromas on this one, but we deduced it was a combination of botrytis, minerallity, and petrol. Dried fruit, raisins, cool fruit.
Medium body, low acid, abit of sugar (67g/l), nice consentration, Good length.
Well made, and delicious. Nice complexity. It's an interesting wine, and not the typical riesling. 3rd bottle of this and there seems to be abit of bottle variation here. The last once were very dried fruit, almot sherry like, and had a amber like color (might have been slightly oxedized).

Tasted alongside 2003 Markus Molitor Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Spätlese.

  • The wine looks yellow gold colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like banana, honeydew, pineapple, petrol, mineral and coconut. It tastes like pineapple, honeydew, banana, petrol, coconut, petrol and biscuity. The body is medium/full. The wine has oily texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

    A Bang for the buck

  • A nice wine with great peach and honey notes. Like others, I agree it is way too low in acidity. So much so that it really "performs" more like an Auslese. Having had several bottles, we have started having it with dessert, and it was wonderful with a honey apple cake.

  • This 2003 Spätlese from Wolfer Goldgrube is a prime example of how well petroleum aromas are defined in old Rieslings. With this one I find a mixture of raw rubber and turpentine. Underneath it is ripe pear and yellow apple. Sugar level is quite high in which it can easily be mistaken for an Auslese. Balanced out with lively acidity
