Not disastrous, but let's not kid ourselves. Sweet, hot, needed about an hour of air before enjoyable. But then the cherry and plum and blackberry did come through nicely.

very dark, prune colour; sharp, light rim; thick and shiny. nose: rather delicate and onedimensional - cherries and blackberries with powder ending. taste: medium bodied with fruity, strong flavour; some dark chocolate and cherries from liqueur; quite smooth but lacks finesse when alcohol taking over. Good to grilled beef.

Giant Wine Sale & Tasting 8/11/2012 (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC): The nose is pretty closed, but swirling almost immediately brings things to life. This is a competent, easily approachable, fruity, medium bodied mouth full of flavor. Typical Mendoza dark color. Ripe blackberry and black cherry fruit with a spicy back ground. Moderate tannins. Very young and still coming together, more swirling, and drinking down the glass helps open up the red and black fruit. A hint of vanilla, with some wet forest floor in the background. Pretty rich mouth feel for a Malbec. Black fruit, with a little leather on the finish.
