Historic note (recorded Aug 06). Lovely cedary claret, fully mature but still delicious. St Julien charm rather than power. A great period for this Chateau, the 1975 was even better (93 score) though I haven't drunk it since 1991.

Carmine with clearly a brown edge. There still is some fruit and good oak. The wine is soft and round, but old age acidity is luring around the corner. Still nice, but should be drunk asap.

Carmine. Deep, expressive and powerful bouquet. Soft and mature. A bit alcoholic. Quite much bitterness. Nevertheless silky and creamy in the aftertaste.

Carmine. Clearly Cabernet in the bouquet with cassis, paprika and good oak. Juicy. The tannin is soft as well as sticky. Supple as well as powerful. A great bottle.
