Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 91 points

  • Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of light ruby colour, with wide garnet rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of red fruit of cherries and raspberry, mineral notes of earth, maturity notes of savory, herbal notes of stem, oak notes of toast, kernel notes of roasted nuts. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium alcohol, with medium body and medium (+) intensity flavours of red fruit of cherries and raspberry, herbal notes of black tea, mineral notes of earth, sweet spice of nutmeg. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Chambertin-Clos de Beze with an intense nose showing good complexity, the wine has good elegance, well-balanced with rich flavours and a long finish. It is ready to drink now and can benefit from further ageing of another 3-5 years.

  • Cherry, dark fruits and minerally. Not as big and robust as is my experience of a Jadot clos de beze but not sure that is a bad thing. class, restrained and clean on the palate. Medium length. In its drinking window but years and years to go. All-in-all a very nice wine and relatively reasonable value. Decanted for a few hours and needed it as it improved as we were drinking it. The negotiant domain owned grand crus can punch over their weighot and this is one of them!!!!!!

  • Domaine Louis Jadot Clos de Bèze vertical. Tasted after 2014. A bit more evolution in the nose, earthy, herbal, a little stemmy. A bit more greenness on the palate, fresh, grippy, mineral, long. Not overly generous, but very good. 91-92+
