The Tarima comes with the intensity and power expected on a mouvedre red. Dark, purple fruit nose, with dominating ripe plums, blackberry and currants, along with some leather, somewhat sweaty, scents. Full and fleshy, built over solid backbone (serious grip), is not really rich or complex, but ripe and pleasantly spiced, with, again, plums, black licorice and currants carrying on to the medium finish. 90
Blackberries and blueberries predominate. A little bit of earthy dust. The finish is long. But there is something missing to my way of thinking. The tannins are tamed and the acidity is in balance but something is lacking. Really reminds me of grape juice.
I purchased this after tasting it in a restaurant/retail shop. I remember it being much more light bodied than this and enjoying it then. Finding this much more robust and meaty tonight makes me glad I bought a few bottles. Lightly perfumed nose with a berry kiss, plum, and a side of bacon.
