Dark Crimson with purple hue. Aroma of Sawdust, shoe polish and leather. Raisin, blackberry and jam. Balanced acidity but tannin is slightly overpowering. Medium body with medium finish. Concentrated flavours and well balanced.

While there are some other flavours, this strongly reminds me of Redskins which are a chewy 'raspberry' flavoured candy. I seem to remember that when it was released it felt more velvety on the palate, whereas now there is a bit of heat.
As a sipping wine it leaves me a bit non-plussed, however if it was introduced at a stand up party when people got sick of white I reckon it would disappear quickly as it has just enough interest and, despite the heat, no hard edges to speak of. Can't see it transforming into anything much with more age though.

Had a bid of undiluted CO2 on the palate but a few stirs cleared that away. Was a bit brash and with a few hard edges. Granted it is young but did not feel right as if it was out of balance and a bit coarse. Not for us 84

Dark ripe cherry, blueberries and cracked pepper. The palate is smooth, cinnamon, vanilla and fruity good length. It's one of those wine that doesn't let you stop and analyse, but just simply enjoy. Good drinking.
