Great example of the power and balance of the 2012 Oregon vintage. Dark in color with black cherry, vanilla and subtle spice up front. Nice acidity which should age well, but not in a meaningful way. The finish is complex and quite long. Big fan.
Medium garnet in color. Forward, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe red fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & raspberries with lovely spice overtones, tea, herbs, minerals and a hint of vanilla. Medium bodied with a good concentration of balanced, smooth textured, ripe red fruit flavors of cherries, raspberries and strawberries with spices, minerals, herbs and a touch of vanilla. Smooth lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with airing but has the fruit & structure to develop further with additional aging.
Perfumed with delicate spice, this wine is all about restraint and balance. Green tea and light raspberry tones balance the spice when tasted. Finish is has a little grip which knocks it down a point or so.
