  Overly oaked coffee and dark shoe polish on opening. Not my thing. But after 4+ hours air some interesting sweet red and blackcurrant nose, hints of tobacco with the merlot adding flesh and the cab franc [?] freshness and interest to a wine that on opening seemed too modern and hopelessly out of balance for my taste. V. nice, more traditional, almost elegant.
