  • Starting to fade a bit. Medium garnet color, lightening a bit at the rim. Creosote and metallic notes on the nose. Some plum and raisin on the palate early, fading to earthy, forest floor and moss on the finish. Very little of the edge expected from Shiraz. Time to drink up.

  • This wine has aged very nicely. Nicely balanced. Last bottle. Wish we had more.

  • My last of 3 and this bottle was very nice. Opened this wine and began drinking immediately. It would probably have been better to double decant an hour or two before drinking to allow a little initial bitterness time to disparate. The color is a clear dark garnet. The nose has graphite, tobacco, wild cherry and plum. The wine was mature with classic warm climate flavors of dark fruits, plum, spice and a bit of earth. The balance was pretty good with a little acidity on the medium finish. I would guess that these are as good as they will get so drink them up.

  • Aerate to decanter. Inky dark red with very slight bricking at edges, full body. Generous bouquet of blackberries and smokey black cherries with graphite and secondary tones of leather. Unmistakable Aussie Shiraz from a ripe vintage. Racy red cherry fruit with excellent depth along with licorice and leather. Medium acid, good structure, lengthy finish from concentrated fruit. Overall enjoyable for the abundance of quality fruit, but considerably simpler than I expected. Value fair, not great, at 36.

  • Boy I remember my first bottle of this being better. More fruit and spice. This is certainly not a bad bottle but does not have the pizaz I remember. Maybe it will improve with a little time in the glass. Opaque purple in color. Nice fruit nose. Palate is pleasant with good fruit but a bit of acid and alcohol on the finish

(Hazy Blur McLaren Vale Shiraz) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-chalky; dusty Swiss Miss cocoa; fresh mint spray; TASTE-it's very inky; really intense fruit; the tannins are kind of sweet and get a little bitter on the back-end, but should calm down; this has good potential (should be put away for 3-5 years); RP-93; GV-90
