First bottle of a half-case stored over 5 years. In the glass this has a clear ruby color with no bricking. Aromatically presents fresh red fruits, sous bois, a light touch of wood, and red licorice. Light bodied mouthfeel and viscosity. On the palate this starts with an energetic burst of acidity and red fruits, transitioning to a spicy mid-palate where the tannin slowly dries out before coasting into the finish where the spice and red fruits return. Good length on the subtle spice filled finish.
A lovely wine that was a phenomenal buy at $31. Drink or hold through 2028.

Tasted blind. Drank after 30mins of air in bottle. Casual Burg session at ES BK on a rainy Monday afternoon. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, brilliant ruby colour. Legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of vibrant red cherries, ripe strawberries, some sweet spice, slight funky earth. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), mildly rustic medium+ tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fresh dark earth, toasted oak, red cherries, ripe strawberries, slight sweet spices. Long finish. Very good quality. I was guessing a 2010 Beaune Premier Cru, maybe an Aloxe-Corton 1er? Entered into drinking window already. Will continue to drink well and may develop more earthiness over the next 3-4 years. No need to keep much longer beyond that.

Third wine of the night. To be fair we drank it after a Grand Cru, so it suffered a little in comparison. Dark fruits on the nose, with strong tannins on the palate. This is well balanced, but I tasted what looked like some oak undertones. This will probably integrate after some time. This need a little more time, but very enjoyable now.
