The best of the Aussie Cabs. And my last one. wonderfully complex and layered. Seamless with soft but perfect tannins. Not a big bad cab like california, but more in the French style and made to go with food.

Screwcap, kept in cool storage since 2015. Mid garnet. Initially reticent nose with mostly cedar and tobacco. Eventually opens up to some black fruit and a hint of underbrush. On the palate this is more classical - medium bodied, medium alcohol, a light dusting of tannins. Quite savoury and lovely texture. Very pleasant and easy to like. Not sure how much life is left though, and I’d drink remaining bottles in the next 5 years.

old world style in a beautiful place. great finesse, long finish.Sweet cassis and blackberry flavors show excellent clarity, along with suggestions of anise and mocha. Gains sweetness with air, taking on floral pastille and vanilla qualities that carry through a long, clinging, lightly tannic finish.

Menthol and sweet black fruit, but at this stage very oaky. Spicy and firm with grippy tannins this is showing few if any signs of an improving development. It lacks the breeding and elegance of its contemporaries, and in a nutshell all too sweet and oaky. CHP 85 pts
