Deep gold colour. Pronounced and developed nose with hazelnuts, dried apricot, honey, caramel and mushroom. Medium (+) taste of ripe green apples, apricot, caramel, honey, mushrooms, hazelnuts, walnuts and rubber. Long and semi-sweet finish. High acidity. Medium body. An outstanding Riesling Auslese that has matured beautifully. Drink now or over the next ten to twenty years. Goes well with cheeses.

700 ml. Kork og kapsel virker ny og kan ikke være fra 1975. Trengte litt luft for å åpne seg. Spennende fruktige sekundæraromaer på lukt og smak. Konsentrert.Noe sødme igjen. God og litt prikkende syre. Lang ettersmak. Skulle ønske jeg hadde flere flasker.

Quick notes (Vernon): A very good palate, but everything else about this wine does its bets to keep you away. The nose has a (faulty?) plastic smell and the finish is very short and clipped. The palate, however, is quite complex and interesting.

I can't remember many wines where the aroma was so different from the taste. This doesn't smell like anything particularly pleasant, with a strong vinyl/plastic note dominating gentler smoky and savoury flavours, but on the palate it's another matter entirely with ripe fruit, honey, lemon cream and mature smoky elements all coming together seamlessly. There's a polished, glossy texture with bright acids keeping it very fresh and vibrant still, and it's a lovely wine to drink - just not at all pleasant to smell.

Not oxidized but way past prime. Little to no acid. Syrupy quality and some fruit evident. Pleasant nose. Disappointing.
