I last had this in January '08 and it has improved considerably. A scar of oak, but not the amount of vanilla from its youth. Nicely made with an undercurrent of acidity that has become more prominent with age. I enjoyed it.
Still fresh and vibrant. Great acid --- white fruit (apple, pear, peach). I didn't get much floral aromas or flavor. Just a hint of oak. Very long finish. Went very well with the no-meat lasagna. No decant - served with just a slight chill.
14.5% alcohol. Medium yellow color. Initially some oak on the nose, which blew off to reveal an integrated, lovely bouquet of apple, wood spice, lemon zest, and minerals. In the mouth, concentrated and very focused, with terrific balance, allowing the smooth apple fruit, lemon notes, and minerals to shine through. There's a pleasing creamy-tart duel on the palate, with nice acidity and a long finish. A-
