On the nose, initially, strong matchstick/gunflint, which quickly opened up revealing oak/butter, light citrus, and some cherries. Over time, more of the fruit and white blossom floral notes came out, but the gunflint smell remains prevalent in the background.
Palate-wise, medium minus body, medium plus acidity, lemon, butter, that transitions into a nice grapefruit and mineral based mid-palate that further evolved into a spiced, long, and pleasant finish. The fruit opened up a lot towards the 2nd hour.
First Coche -- amazing!

Wow, just wow..! Maybe the best showing of Coche's standard Meursault I've ever had. This bottle was so pure, so elegant. It showed some butter and nuts, and just a tad popcorn. It showed Coches typical power, but still elegancy and finesse with an absolute stunning balance between acidity and fruit. Still have 1 bottle in the cellar. Although it's ready to go, I'm intrigued to let the last one sit for quite some time more. A delight, served in a dinner together with other exeptional wines.

Just the villages, but all the Coche-Dury hallmarks here, the rich ripe fruit and the framing grip of the oak, powerful, long and utterly delicious.
