Amazing how youthful this is at 29 years old. Fruit forward still. Overripe strawberries and raspberries on the nose, with some black soil and rich compost. Mushrooms on both nose and palate, but again a lot of fruit still. Also some baking spice. The tannins are still very present, yet soft and supple. I popped this thinking it could be at or past peak. I am sorely mistaken. This could go another 5-8 years. So glad I took the plunge and bought a couple old bottles. Cork was in perfect condition.

Excellent. And elegant wine displaying what I look for in aged Napa Cabernet.
This is the oldest wine that I have had in quite some time.
This is lovely juice. Rich and thick. Intense berries, primarily cherry. Very ripe. Some raspberry in there too. Nice backdrop of leather.
The juice is darker than anticipated, with just hints of brick round the edges.
Great mouthfeel and a long finish.
What surprised me the most is how tannic this wine still is, but in a good way. There is a great balance between fruit and tannin. This wine still has a lot of structure and tastes to me like it could have lasted quite a few more years in the bottle. Nice acidity balances everything out.
My first glass lasted me quite a while. There was enough going on that I just sat and thought about every sip.
At $56, I’d absolutely buy this again.

Bright red fruit, plums, camomile, intense, well structured body, great acidity. Still a lot of life ahead. A beauty!
