"Comfortable, but exotic." This wine has a really interesting combination of spice and fruit. It really works nice and is well balanced. The color is a nice purple with brown bricking on the rim. The nose has white pepper with dark cherry undertones. The taste is where it really becomes interesting. Ripe, sweet sherry and blueberry combine wonderfully to complement an exotic spice profile. Earthy, but sweet spices, like galangal root, cardomom, and green peppercorns. When you read about it, it does not sound good, but it works. There is a little tannin left, but I think it is ready to drink up.

Borders on Outstanding! Decanted for 3 hours. Wine opened wonderfully. Still some tannins and bite - enough to let you know it's still alive but without the grab your throat qualities of any sort of alchohal taste. Just lovely fruit. A deep purple in the glass with great legs and a solid nose of grape and vanilla - initially on the pallete it has current and vanilla then it rounds into a delightful blackberry finally going into just a lvely aftertaste that so many good cabernet sauvignon have. Too bad I don't have another bottle of this vintage....

Very smooth and deep red. Hint of oak and berries. More towards the merlot/zinfandel.

Medium bodied flavor but smooth and easy to drink, mellow. Maybe we drank it at the right time.
