The nose puts a smile on my face. Lots of PN bass notes, but also so fresh and so clean. Very bubbly, a big rich and expressive wine. Just the right amount of acidity to balance the richness of the fruit.
disgorged november 2013, 100% pinot noir, blend of 2010/09 - lovely soothing rich lemon meringue meets creme brulee, luxurious but balanced, the low/no dosage more than compensated by perfect ripeness, a lovely Côte des Bar with opulence
Monthly Lunch Group - March 2015: 2009 fruit, disgorged October 2011. Strawberry, grapefruit, lime and earth aromas. The lack of dosage is evident, with a dry but very fine and driven palate. Really nice to drink and relax with.
From magnum. Very leesy and a huge amount of bubbles when first opened. I am not sure if I like this wine or not. At first, the lees characteristics were interesting and worked with some tart citrus, but as it saw air, an odd, unpleasant rubber note came out. Seems like the wine has a sulfide issue which got progressively worse. The group was split on it too, some felt it was too rich and others felt it smelled bad. Disappointing.
