Very nice, high quality. Medium weight, great depth of flavor. Less hoppy than Pilsner, a bit richer and wider, but not at the Lambic or Gueuze level. Very long. A touch of sweetness and citrius

  • what used to be a go to beer that we left on the side in the quest to try all the latest trends in artisanal / microbrewery releases. The original artisanal beer in many respects and with a quality and depth of flavor that transcends these latest trends. Full, proper, depth of flavor, light sweet feel too. Very nice. Serve it in wine glasses pls!

  • Full bodied, smooth, nice and tasty with that distinct flavor of a good wheat beer. A great quaff.

  • This is a blonde Belgian abbey ale or 'Biere Belge Blonde' the mark is Anno 1240. 11.2 ounces and 6.5 percent bv. Very rich in color with a somewhat large-bubbled froth. Needs a good splash to make a head. Extremely deep sweet-bread notes with plenty of clove and rich hopping and a nice hint of truffle. After a few weeks in the refrigerator has almost as much depth as a Regensberger ale I had sitting outside St Peter's Cathedral in October. One wonders how much appetite one can keep with this degree of richness, but there's nary a cloy! I'd say it loses just a little bit to coarseness, but might go well with anoher year in bottle. A rather sweet and lively metallic midpalate. Ampoirt brands; Alliance, St. Louis. 15/111/16; 49:02:50; UPC 7 8615000311. Fine plate of sauerkraut and pork loin, stewed with German wheat beer.
