Sashimi and Shabu-Shabu (Edmund and Shuming's place @ the Marbella): Very nicely put together Cote-Rotie. Nose showed meat and some leather along with sweet morello cherry, blueberry and violets. There must be a nice amount of Viognier in this I think. Palate was clean and minerally, with black pepper complementing fresh blueberries and cherries. Seamless from attack to finish, the wine closed out fresh and sappy, with nice sweet berries - all this undergirded by fine and unobstrusive tannins, almost silky, and a layer of leathery meat accents. Absolutely yummy with Shabu-Shabu.
