Level, color and cork all fine. Aged well. Balanced, with nice red/black fruit over medium bodied wine. Bouquet a little light. Tannins gone but still nice flavor. Paired well with steak, grilled sweet onions, garlic.
Hard to believe this came from the same case as the two bottles in my prior review. Way past its prime. Sour note overshadowed what was left of fruit (which wasn't much). A shadow of something that used to be much better. Cork soaked nearly all the way through. Level above shoulder but low.
Silky smooth, medium bodied, good color, voluptuous. Tannins nearly gone (this was better a few years ago) but still balanced fruit and acidity. A little earthy, but currant-like fruit predominates, with just a hint of tar. Opened two bottles. Cork in one almost done but wine still okay.
