Garnet in color. Nose of raspberries, leather, and earth. Taste of raspberries and crushed dark berries, tobacco, hints of vanilla and earth. Resolved tannins, solid acidity, and bright fruit, particularly for each one of your old wine from South Africa. Probably at work just past its prime but drinking nicely. Drink over the next five years.

Eye: dark rusty red color. Nose: strong earthy aroma, not much fruit but was still pleasant floral, forest and smoked spices. Palate: softening tannins, subtle fruit, medium body, medium finish. Nose and palate improved after a further 90 minutes of breathing. Oldest wine of the blind tasting but held its own well and was still enjoyable.
