Luckily the other bottle is in good condition, dark red in color with brownish rim, slightly cloudy. Mature VR nose with plummy fruit, intense VR spices, with herbs and mint. Great fruit/acidity balance with lively acidity lift, very long finish. Perhaps lacks the ultimate depth or kick to rise to another level, but still a wonderful and mature Richebourg.
Milky in color with a lot of sediment. Thank you Pacalet for his generosity. Plums, wild berries, plums, tea, menthol and soil on the nose. The palate still had acidity with pretty mature plums and dark fruit. The structure of this mature burg was impeccable. This needs to be consumed now.
Classic nose. Quite firm crunchy fruit with some nice tertiary elements beginning to show. The slightly drying finish typical of the vintage (which is not one of my favourite) but I enjoyed both 88s today with a slight preference for the Dujac CdR. Drinking at peak but in no hurry either.
