  better on day two and not my favourite style of mountain nebbiolo, but still a nice present from a quality producer. Monolithic and disjointed at first, it improved with air, showing dark cherries, tea leaves and tobacco.   I agree with the previous reviewer's sentiments (as translated by google). The sfursat method makes the wine more open knit, and a bit more tannic and concentrated. But it loses the quintessential alpine character to a degree. Kirsch and herbs, a bit of a Zin or Rhonish character due to the alcohol level. Medium to full bodied, dryish tannins. For me this is one to drink near term, though should hold for a few years yet.

  1) costo davvero eccessivo (40 euro), a mio avviso non ripagati
  2) già troppo maturo ed evoluto per un nebbiolo di montagna di soli 8 anni di affinamento (pur essendo uno Sfursat). Non attenderei molto tempo ulteriore per berlo, non mi pare in condizioni di regalare ulteriori buone evoluzioni. Pare già stanco.
  3) eccessivamente tannico e nerboruto, pur per uno Sfursat; ... e frutto piuttosto spento
  4) complessità aromatica del Nebbiolo trattenuta, se non imbrigliata, dall'appassimento e dai sentori surmaturi

  6) freschezza leggendaria del nebbiolo di montagna relegata a souvenir tascabile
  Tutto ciò è in piccola parte difetto comune alla tipologia dello Sfursat, ma non sempre e non nella medesima misura. Per esempio l'ultimo Sfursat 5 Stelle di Nino Negri che è bevuto era un vino davvero molto buono, dove queste caratteristiche ben moderate e ben dosate diventavano qualità e non orpelli un po' grevi.
  Comunque, per farla breve, Viva ArPePe! e Viva tutti i fini ed elegantissimi Nebbioli di Valtellina non sforzati con l'appassimento in fruttaio.
