  • Found this at back of cellar. It was surprisingly good given it should have been drunk years ago. Great partner to a steak, surprising amount of fruit still left and long finish.

  • (10 year Museum release)
Night 1: opened and drunk first glass immediately. High note smoke and very high aniseed nose; medium bodied fruit with a long relaxed tail. Interesting to see how it evolves overnight
Night 2: still fresh and stable; appears to have exited youth but not quite reached maturity - that tail was not quite so "fully mature" relaxed as I perceived it last night. Same gorgeous combo of dark blackcurranty notes with pepperu shiraz you would expect.
All in all a gorgeous wine I wish I had another bottle of!

  • Much better than expected despite being past its prime. Classic cabernet nose of black current and cassis with hints of damp earth. Fully integrated palette of saddle leather, and dark spiced plums. That said, the wine was lacking any freshness and fell away quite quickly.
